The main types and characteristics of gear transmission
One of the basic requirements for gear transmission is that the ratio of instantaneous angular velocities must remain constant. There are many types of gear transmission, which can be divided into two categories: planar gear transmission and spatial gear transmission, according to the relative motion of two gear transmission: planar motion or spatial motion.
(1) The types of planar gear transmission: Planar gear transmission is used for transmission between two parallel shafts. Common types include spur gear transmission, helical gear transmission, and herringbone gear transmission. According to the tooth orientation, planar gear transmission can also be divided into external meshing, internal meshing, and meshing between gears and racks.
(2) Types of Space Gear Transmission: Space gear transmission is used for transmission between two intersecting shafts or two staggered shafts. Common types include bevel gear transmission, staggered shaft helical gear (helical gear) transmission, etc.
The main characteristics of gear transmission are: a wide range of applicable circumferential speeds and power; Accurate and stable transmission ratio, high efficiency; High work reliability and long lifespan; Can achieve transmission between parallel axes, intersecting axes at any angle, and intersecting axes at any angle; High manufacturing and installation accuracy are required, resulting in high costs; Not suitable for long-distance transmission between two axes.
